Ascend Analytics, a leading developer of innovative software solutions for energy analytics, today announced that electricity provider E.ON U.S. has licensed PowerSimm Planner to manage its planning and capacity expansion decisions.

In 2009 E.ON U.S. released a public Request for Proposal (RFP) for energy analytics software solutions.  Specifically, E.ON U.S. is trying to upgrade its analytical capabilities in the planning time horizon, typically longer than 10 years.  E.ON U.S. owns and operates two sub-companies Louisville Gas and Electric Company, and Kentucky Utilities Company.  Performing analysis for both subsidiaries as well as managing market interactions posed serious challenges.  The PowerSimm Planner software solution was selected to meet these challenges.
