Georgia Power is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 Request for Proposals for Energy Storage System (ESS) resources. This capacity-based RFP was approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission as part of Georgia Power’s 2022 Integrated Resource Plan and is designed to procure resources to meet Georgia Power’s customers’ capacity needs. This RFP will include: (i) Standalone ESS with grid charging capability; and (ii) ESS with Renewable Resource and grid charging capability. The procurement target capacity is 500 MW, with a minimum storage duration of 2 hours.
Registration is required through the Independent Evaluator (IE) website as it will be the sole means of communication between Georgia Power and interested participants. All Bids are to be submitted online through the IE website and all communications relating to this RFP must be posted on the IE website.
