Ferdinand's background includes two decades of energy-market expertise and over 6GW of successful power projects across renewables, storage, thermal space, as well as extensive experience in digital transformation with several of the largest IPP's and regulated utilities in the US.

With over 13 years of energy sector expertise, Paul helps hyperscalers evaluate assets and accelerated a large investor-owned utility's procurement evaluation process from months to days. Paul began his career at Bay City Electric Light & Power, managed energy efficiency programs, and served as the IRP modeler for Lansing Board of Water & Light. Before Ascend, he led IRPs, FP&A, rate design, and strategic planning at Michigan’s largest municipal utility. Paul also served on the Board of the American Public Power Association’s DEED program.
